Professional Development - This committee is continually looking for ways in which to bring learning opportunities to the Industry to help staff increase and maintain their knowledge .

Education Committee - The purpose of the education committee is to organise examinations locally, to liaise with education organisations and to promote CII qualifications. The committee also administers Institute Prize Funds.

Events Committee - The purpose of the committee is to arrange sporting and social events for the members of the Manchester Institute. It is too easy nowadays to think that the demands of work leave us no time for other activities. Our purpose is to allow the opportunities for members to meet other members in a less stressful environment.

Careers Committee - This committee is dedicated to the education of young people and graduates, and helping to start and maintain their career within the insurance industry. They have a team of volunteers who regularly visit schools and colleges promoting insurance as a career. If you wish to join that team, please contact Tom Lord.

Management Committee - This committee takes an overview of all institute matters including financial affairs, authority levels, membership trends and other matters arising.

Communications Committee - This committee has responsibility for production of The Professional and the development of the website.

Insurance Charities - This group helps individuals, who have worked in the Insurance Industry for at least five years, and their dependent relatives. Support is needed for families under pressure, individuals in crisis, children with special needs, long term sick or disabled, and first degree students. Help is given as ongoing financial, short term relief, one off payments, low interest loans and money advice. For further details please contact John Nugent via the Institute Office.
