Insurance Awards - First for Manchester
 
Manchester's inaugural Insurance Awards will be held at a lunchtime ceremony on Thursday 25th September 2008 at the new MacDonald Hotel in the city centre.

The awards are being organised by the Manchester Insurance Institute in order to recognise local contributions to the Manchester insurance market and will emphasise professionalism, reputation and ethical practice. We are delighted to have Alan Cleary MA FCII FCILA, Past President of the CII hosting the event.

 Rt Hon Lord Hunt of the Wirral MBE, President of the CII, said that "events such as this are so very important.  I am delighted that you are taking the opportunity to showcase the importance of a successful financial services sector to the regional economy".

There are five main categories for the awards, they are:

*     The General Broker of the Year Award (sponsored by Peninsula)
*     The Service Provider of the Year Award (sponsored by Primary General)
*     The Training and Development Award (sponsored by Quinn Insurance)
*     The Underwriting Initiative of the Year Award (sponsored by Wilsons Insurance Group)
*     The Claims Initiative of the Year Award (sponsored by Exchange Street Claims)

All profits raised by the Awards will be donated to The Insurance Charities who give vital financial and practical support to past and present employees of the insurance industry, and their dependent relatives, who are suffering financial hardship.
